I'm working on a cozy romance book based in Mumbai and Bangalore and curious to see if people like Indian characters in a cozy romantasy setting more or just pure romance in the real world.

I have the general outline for this "high school" romance trope but it is set between characters pursuing their MBA. Now I have the option to make MBA into "mage of botanical arts" and add witchy magic to the setting but it feels like it may not land well (suspend the disbelief for the readers) when the location is Mumbai and Bangalore. Or maybe I'm thinking too much and need to check my ignorance.
