Not sure why my mom thinks it's ok to say the stuff she does lol

NSFWRelationships

So I'm currently living with my parents. Last October, I came out as trans to them after feeling like I was trans since January/February. I'd felt dysphoric long before that but didn't have a word for it yet. Like when mom insisted I wax my legs for vacation and special occasions. I asked why I needed to do that but dad didn't. She didn't have a good answer, but I could tell her answer inside was "because he's a man and you're not".

Anyways, basically since I have come out, it feels like she is obsessed with telling me her unsolicited advice.

  1. She's asked, since I've come out, about maybe 12 different times now about bottom surgery, in various ways. From "do you want a dick and balls, ew gross I wouldn't want that" to "do you want a dick, I support you if you do?" After the first time she asked, I answered the question all of one time and then started saying "I'm not answering that, please don't ask". She continues to still ask however. The one time, I got pissy because she asked, yet again, after I told her to stop asking me this question because it makes me uncomfortable and she told me she would stop.

  2. She's stared at my chest for a full minute and asked if I was binding, asked her to let her know if I was binding, make sure I'm doing it properly, etc. Fine and good. But then, during a huge meltdown I was having, because I'd just moved back in with my parents and they didn't believe I had mental health issues (while coming out of antidepressant withdrawals) she decided the only way to get me up was to throw out my binding tape. Sooo that still didn't work because I felt so dead inside that I didn't care what she decided to throw away.

  3. Last week, she decided it was appropriate to ask if I was getting top surgery. Then she further asked if I'd regret cutting my boobs off because "what if I end up wanting to breastfeed my kids later". I'm not pregnant and I will never be pregnant. I've hated my periods since I had them. Idk what makes her think I want to be pregnant with kids.

  4. She keeps parroting misinformation and fear mongering about T. I told her the doctor said I was in the all clear, she responded with "are you sure you're healthy enough for T, mentally, physically? I mean maybe you'd like to try the weight loss medication I'm on!" The weight loss med she's on is an appetite suppressant. I'm already struggling eith appetite due to disordered eating. I will not be taking any weight loss meds. She's talked about me trying a weight loss med several times and I keep saying um no I am not doing that. She also thinks that since I'm a bit overweight, going on T would "obviously" make me gain more weight, and then I'll 100% get diabetes. Again, the doctor said my bloodwork is all clear, not sure where she is picking that up from. I've TOLD her multiple times the doctor said I have the all clear for T. Whatever. I started T anyways and I feel fantastic. The funny thing is she said she supports me going on T once I went to the doctor to get proper info, and if the doctor said I'm healthy it's fine. Well I checked both of those boxes and she is still saying the same crap. When I tried to call her out, she backed out and rephrased what she said. Ughhh.

  5. She said if I was going on T I should think about a legal name change + gender marker change. I said "yeah, alright actually!" She then proceeded to get upset when I told her I'd booked an appointment to ask, not even change, just ask about how to change it. So confused. She also asked me why I couldn't just leave my legal name as is and have my chosen name as a middle, but then also asked something along the lines of "a lot of trans people keep your legal names, so would you still be called "legal name"?" And I was like...how did we get here. She's been calling me my chosen name for a year and now she chooses to ask about this? Now she basically has asked if she can continue deadnaming me again?

I'm sorry, but the more she comments, the less I want to share. She says she is my "biggest supporter" and honestly that boils my blood. You shouldn't have to say every single time we talk about this that you support me if your actions don't back it up. As for my dad, he says nothing and just goes along with whatever my mom says. So he's not particularly helpful either. Even my sister (who I'll give some grace, she is younger) decided to "helpfully" tell me that she found research that people on T might get cancer (not a large amount, and again, doctor said I'm healthy overall so...yeah).

I'm really fed up, because my mom in particular says she supports and then proceeds to ask the most ignorant questions. How many times do I need to say something makes me uncomfortable before "ignorance" turns into "I'm not listening to you on purpose".
