Who You Are Now

I used to think recovery meant getting back to the guy I was on December 7th, 2025 — the day before everything changed.

It took me a while to understand that guy isn't coming back. Not because something was lost, exactly, but because I'm not the same person anymore. I’m now Rob 2.0. I'm still a loving father and husband. I still care about the same people, in the same ways. But I'm also someone new — someone who's had to rebuild parts of himself from a very different starting point.

Nobody warned me that grief and growth could happen at the same time. That I could miss who I was and be curious about who I'm becoming, in the same breath.
