My mom throws out my stuff without ever asking

Recently she asked me to throw out the trash, the box was pretty heavy so I looked inside and I saw that my last birthday gift was in it (a train shaped lamp)
I took it out and asked her why she did it. Her reasoning was that it “didn’t seem work” which is false. I asked her to not do it again and she agreed.
Today I decided to wear my favourite jacket, but couldn’t find it anywhere. When I asked my mom she said she threw it away because “her friends made fun of me wearing it so much”.
I’m 17 by the way, and I do not even know her friends (not like I would’ve cared anyway)

To be honest I’m not even sure how to feel about it, feels like I might be overthinking. What are your thoughts?
