Doing the job 24/7 while my baby daddy living like a teenager.

Love & Relationships

Problem/Goal:

I need advice on how to stop letting my mental health get destroyed by this unfair situation. I want to learn how to completely emotionally detach from my ex’s carefree lifestyle so I can focus entirely on my own peace and raising my baby.

Context:

I am an infant mom raising my baby boy entirely on my own 24/7. My baby daddy is a deadbeat who barely even asks how our baby is doing. He comes from a wealthy, well-off family and is the youngest child. his own brother even admitted to me that he is completely spoiled and has never faced real consequences.

He only "sees" our baby every Sunday, but his family is the one doing all the actual work. Every Sunday which is his day off our baby goes to their house, gets brought back to me at 6 PM, and my ex immediately goes out on dates. A friend literally saw him out dining at a restaurant with a new girl, while he couldn't even make time to sit and be with his own child.

He pretends to be a big-shot businessman, but it's all his parents' business and money. He is actively on Tinder, love-bombing young girls, going to motels, and living like a single, childless bachelor. He even had the nerve to tell me to just find someone else because he already has someone new he is pursuing.

On top of that, someone message me that he is a compulsive liar. He lied about his background, lied about taking board exams he never even graduated for, and uses fake "social anxiety" as an excuse whenever he gets caught in a lie. When I ask him to take responsibility, he plays dumb and asks what I mean by "stepping up" instead of just buying milk, diapers, and paying for medical care.

I survived a high-risk pregnancy and now I handle all the 24/7 caretaking alone, sleepless nights, fever checks. It's always just me and his mom who end up taking our baby to doctor appointments because he refuses to show up. His family constantly enables his irresponsible behavior and takes care of his child for him instead of forcing their own son to grow up and step up. It feels impossibly unfair that I am stuck in full-time survival mode while he gets to party, date, and act like a carefree teenager.
