I'm Dr. Sajad Zalzala. AMA about misconceptions surrounding GLP-1 use

I'm Dr. Sajad Zalzala, a board-certified family medicine physician and Medical Advisor at SkinnyRx. Part of my role is reviewing patient care pathways and helping set the clinical standards our prescribers work from, specifically around GLP-1 medications like semaglutide and tirzepatide.

A lot of what I see online about these medications doesn't match what's actually happening in the research or in day to day patient care.

Some of it is outdated, some of it is oversimplified, and some of it is just wrong in a way that makes people either more scared of these drugs than they should be, or more careless with them than they should be.

I'll answer anything related to GLP-1 use. This could include dosing and titration, side effects, what "food noise" actually means physiologically, compounded versus brand name formulations, or whatever misconception you've run into and want fact checked.

I can't give individualized medical advice or comment on your specific case, that has to happen with your own provider, but I'm glad to talk through the general clinical picture on any of this.

AMA!
