Hi, I'm just wondering if anyone has any ideas about an issue(s) that has recently appeared. (Am taking to mechanic tomorrow)

**Car details**: 2011 Toyota Yaris 1.33ltr (UK model), 6 speed manual transmission, 100k miles on odo.

Last serviced Nov 2025 inc oil change and filters.

So a couple of weeks ago, I noticed a slight ticking sound coming from the front of the car only at high rpm acceleration. The ticking noise was rapid in frequency, and wasn't harsh nor metallic (estimating about 10-30 ticks per second) during acceleration. I couldn't here the noice inside the vehicle at low revs or idle.

At the time I noticed the oil was very low and topped up to correct level. However noise still persisted (Yes, I know I'm an idiot for ignoring).

Anyway I check oil level again today. Once again very low. Burnt oil smell from engine bay (not sure if normal for an older car). Can't see any drips on floor underneath car or on parts in engine bay.

Decided to turn engine on whilst bonnet was open and sounds very rough at idle, despite now having oil. Unfortunately I can't get a video of engine whilst revving.

Thanks in advance
