Feel like a 3rd wheel with my cousins and their partners
Just needed some advice on how I’ve been feeling lately.
So before my 2 cousins got married I was very close to them, we had a close group, we would do things together, meet up every weekend, just chill and have a good time.
My first cousin got married to his wife and disappeared for a while, stopped meeting up, became super distant. And then after a while he came back but now his wife started coming along which isn’t a problem, we’ve always wanted to be close to my cousins wife and include her.
Then my 2nd cousin got married to her husband recently. She was my favourite and closest cousin. She’s someone I would vent to, chill with, laugh and joke with. When my first cousin left after getting married my other cousin and I got super close. But then she also got married. Now her husband started coming along, which was also fine, we included him.
Then there’s me, I have a girlfriend but it’s a long distance relationship. So she hasn’t been introduced to my cousins in person.
Ever since my cousins have gotten married we never get an opportunity to just chill as cousins. Partners are always around now. It’s like my cousins can’t come to their side of the family without their partners. Some alone time with my cousins is what I miss. Because at the end of the day my cousins are family and I grew up with them, so there’s things I’m comfortable with but when the partners come it gets uncomfortable for me.
I also end up feeling like a 3rd wheel in that sense, cause the couples are always talking about marriage stuff and it’s like I feel kinda left out. When we chill I’m always quiet and listen to what they’re saying. Feel like the little guy in the room.
Ive stopped talking to them or making plans because i honestly dont enjoy my time with em anymore.
I miss chilling with my cousins before they got married.
Call me selfish or whatever but I’m being honest.
What do you guys think. Are my feelings valid or am I being selfish.
