Is transmog a really bad idea for Classic?

I’ve being thinking this for quite while and honestly I can’t think of a bad reason for transmog in Classic.

Think about it, in order to get the appearance, you must first get the piece itself to unlock said appearance

If I see a guy with a full Warlord set. I can imagine two things, either this guy is a PvP god, or someone who stood afk for 200 hours un Alterac Valley.

Same for PvE, you could be someone who worked hard with their guild to get their armor pieces or someone who just paid for them.

My point is, if you want to flex on your gear, having the transmog itself gets the same result, because people know you had to win the piece and defeat the boss or did a grind to get those appearances.

I’m just saying this because the game has a lot of unique models that could make your character shine and unique, instead of having the same character, with the same gear, duplicate it all over the city with just different haircuts or races.
