I (27F) have a crush on my client (30M). What do I do?
I recently started walking dogs in my free time to make some extra cash. I have one particular client who happens to be extremely handsome, smart, and successful. I go to his (super fancy) apartment to walk his dog every day while he is at work. Today on my way in from the walk I ran into him on his way back home. I was reminded of how incredibly handsome he is. He was very sweet and we made polite conversation for a few minutes before he took the dog inside. He is a bit softspoken but he always smiles at me and asks me questions about myself.
I know men are often hesitant to make the first move these days out of fear of being perceived as “creepy” or getting rejected, especially in work related situations. However, I am very nervous about making the first move ever. I am scared that he will have a girlfriend or something, although I didn’t see any evidence of one online or in his apartment (only mens clothes/shoes/etc, no framed photos, etc). I have been told that I am an attractive woman, but alas I still get scared that he straight up wont reciprocate my feelings and I will lose a regular client for no reason. That being said, the stakes are relatively low, as I am not depending on his business for my entire livelihood. He probably pays me $100/wk total and I can easily replace his business if it comes to that. The fear of rejection is really what is holding me back.
Tbh, I’m not even entirely sure I want to date him but it may be fun to hook up or something to get me out of a dating slump. What is a very casual way I can subtly hint that I’m interested in him? Note that I do not often see him, as he is usually out when I come by to walk the dog.
