Isn’t trying or doesn’t get it?

Hi everyone looking for some insight or advice? Or maybe just to get feedback. My kiddo (5) is super smart, if she is into it she’ll engage and retain the information no problem. But when it comes to learning how to write and learn phonics, she just checks out. We were doing logic of English lesson 1 .. just.. drawing a line, and she just would not do it. I showed her the textile card, did examples, really praised when she would do it, but then she’d start doing circles, random lines and just started to not care or try? Is there something I can do? Im trying super hard to not get frustrated with her but it’s like she’s not even kind of trying. For context, she can write a few letters fairly well, and can trace very well. With her writing practice tracing lines she’s right on the mark, but when it comes to doing it solo, she checks out. Thanks for any feedback, advice, anything really.
