How do you stay organized? Or, how to teach an ~experienced~ law bitch new tricks
For 10+ years I’ve used outlook tasks to keep track of everything I need to do, but sadly my new company’s auto-delete policies make this system not feasible.
I like that I can flag an email and see it in the same to do list with my tasks. I like that within a task, I can keep emails, documents, and my notes all in one place. I put in the title of the task the topic/matter and what I need to do, or what/who I’m waiting on. Once I finish a task and check it off the list, it would stay in outlook and I could go back months or years later and find it in my completed tasks.
Since starting at this company, I’ve been using the system I’m used to and copying and pasting everything from my completed tasks into onenote periodically, but it’s quickly getting unwieldy. I’m VERY sad to say I need a new organization/to do list system. On the bright side, technology has changed a lot and I’m sure there are better tools out there that I would just need to get used to.
What do you do and what do you like about it?
