Do I need to switch to version 2.1 to solve my problem?

This is a massive refinery that liquefies coal to produce heavy and light oil and gas, in order to convert everything into plastic

I’m running into an issue with that massive refinery: it was working reasonably well at first, but I’ve noticed that over time—even though the ratios are correct—the pipes don't seem able to fully handle the material flow. I understand that this issue was fixed in version 2.1, but I’m currently playing with a few small quality-of-life mods and am worried that upgrading might break something. Should I go ahead and update to 2.1, or is there a way to fix the problem until 2.1 becomes stable?
