Struggling with intense workouts

Strict Carnivore Diet

to cut a long story short

i did the carnivore diet ( eggs, meat but mostly fatty beef, and butter) from jan2025-december 2025. i’m a very active person who weight lifts, runs, plays soccer/basketball, swims, etc.

everything was perfect aside from 2 things.

1- i kept losing weight, and the only way my weight would say the same was to force feed every day. I added butter to all my coffees, had about 1kg of fatty meat a day, and 15 eggs. all had butter to them as well. it just gets to a point where i’m really lean, that sitting on a hard seat hurts cos my cheeks ain’t got fat to soften it up. just to be clear, it didn’t happen overnight. i just kept losing weight over the months

2- the intense moments of the workouts/sports, i felt like my gas tank was “empty” and physically couldn’t exert more. all my results that i had before going carnivore decreased by quite a bit.. my in the moment recovery time increases, and after that big first hit, i felt quite depleted for the remainder of the workout/sport. i tried adding multivitamins, electrolytes powders, generous amounts of salt throughout the day, lots of water, nothing was able to fix that issue. i thought it was just because i switched diet, so i stuck with it for months and by the end of the year, it still felt the same

because of this, i switched back to a single ingredient, heavy animal based product diet - i added in sweet potatoes, fruits, rice, etc. about 1-2 weeks in, the issues that i mentioned just above were both gone. my workouts went right back up, that empty gas tank feeling went away, i was able to put some weight back on ( not becoming fat, but not being shredded, say 12% bodyfat give or take)

i did this from jan2026-march2026, and went back to the carnivore diet. so i’ve been on the diet from april. it seems like the same process is happening again, where the 2 issues i mentioned before have come back

i mention this because i felt MUCH better on the carnivore diet in terms of just wellbeing and health, and i would love to be able to fix those 2 issues that i mentioned without having to go and consume carbs

if any of you experienced some of these things or have any advice, please drop it below
