Need advice on bowed tiles
Hi everyone, I got a bit of a situation going on and would love to get your advice. I ordered a large amount of porcelain tiles for our patio and large section of our garden. We waited 2 months for delivery and they finally came
The landscapers were laying them and noticed the tiles bowing quite a bit and said the job won’t be flush due to this! We measured the curve of the bowing and it’s approx 3.5MM the tile size is 120x60.
I’ve asked the company for their policy and they said the tolerance level is 2mm. We had to take a tile back to the store and they are sending it off to be investigated. They also advised to lay the tiles 70/30 to avoid lipage. They’re being quite difficult to deal with and I don’t trust their “investigations”.
What’s your opinion on 70/30 and the situation above? Do we just accept that 50/50 isn’t achievable for a flush look with big tiles and lay it 70/30? Do we push for a full refund / exchange on the tiles hoping the next batch will be better?
My wife really wants these specific tiles but we’re just not
100% keen on 70/30 would love opinions / advice
Thanks in advance
