*Please note that images and footage shown are not guaranteed to be final, this is more a showcase of some stuff we've done than a look at the final product.*

**What the heck is this?**

This is Originn, an RPG made in GameMaker aiming to scratch the MOTHER itch, with plenty of new innovations.

**Isn't this just Oddity?**

No, we promise we're different.

**Synopsis**

A ragtag group of unlikely teenaged friends find themselves in the midst of a sinister plot, and so they must save the world. Like many good stories, its in the 80s.

**Features**

* Turn-based combat utilizing rolling HP meters (rolling health is just so cool!!!)
* New types of powers, attributes of weapons and items, and other general expansions beyond the battle system of the MOTHER series.
* Equip-able perks that provide various advantages and enable different strategies in battles.
* Five party members, all with their own unique talents and skills.
* Inventory management that makes me happy.

**Systems currently implemented/partially implemented**

* Battle system
* Multiple following party members
* Text/dialogue with capability for options and branching
* Items and inventory
* Shops
* NPC overworld behavior and dialogue
* Randomly spawning overworld enemies
* Cutscene system
* Warping/room transitions
* Overworld music
* Probably a lot more that I can't think of rn

**Closing Thoughts**

While I'm proud of the progress we've made, there's still a lotttttttt to get done before we can release a demo. We have a target timeline for that, but I don't wanna make any hard promises on it, since we know what that can lead to... Anyway, thanks for seeing what we have so far, and again, if you're interested in working on this, please fill out the application!

So guys... Anyone interested in helping make a game?
