PA prescribed me Terbinafine and never did base labs

I have bad toenail fungus and I went to my PA. I told her the OTC topical ones had no success. She told me to take terbinafine 250 mg daily and, after 3 months, come back for bloodwork.

Starting after only 2 doses, I started having awful nausea and retching. I wanted to stick it out knowing that sometimes side effects subside. After a week of vomiting, I developed a Mallory-Weiss tear and had to have clips placed in the ER.

The ER doctor was shocked that she never tested my levels first and that she told me to wait 3 months before checking them again.
