Battery Registration

I have a 2022 Kia Seltos 2.0L with ISG. I replaced the AGM battery with an identical spec AGM battery from another brand. I did the basic recalibration procdure for 4 hours as outlined in the owners manual. Everything seems to work fine. Ive been told that the battery needs to be reregistered electronically at the dealer, or my battery may be damaged. Am i ok or does this really need to be done. Thanks.
