Sight suggestions in northern NM?

Just thought I'd ask here real quick, see if there are any offerings for good experiences in northern NM. Last year my wife and I ended up in Red River at the end of our camping trip and picking up there again this year. We're van camping, do hiking mostly and try our best to avoid nationally known places (so, no Taos, Santa Fe, ABQ). Our rough plan is Red River for a few nights, Carson NF for a couple nights, Chama for the railroad, may or may not stop by Ojo Clientele for a soak, Bandelier NM just to have done it once and then a few nights around Valles Caldera and over to Jemez Springs. We do have to hit Santa Fe and ABQ to meet some folks, but we know those areas reasonably well already thanks to friends. We've been through Abiquiu and done the O-Keefe tour, same with Ghost Ranch ~ no desire to visit either again.

Just didn't want to drive by somewhere that locals may love but isn't really well known otherwise. We mostly camp and hike, in a 2wd van so no high clearance 4x4-only type places for us on this trip. Really wanting to escape the heat, hence the high altitude locations.

Thanks for anything you offer, it is appreciated!
