Dropper post + lever

Hi all - I am eyeing getting a dropper post for my bike.
I wanted to get the DT Swiss lever: https://www.dtswiss.com/en/suspension/remote-levers/l1-drop-bar-remote-lever since it seems to be only of the only ones that seems to have a right side version (everybody else seem to only have a left side version).

Unfortunately, I can’t seem to find the right side version available anywhere? Have folks ever used it and if so, did you have to custom order it from you LBS?

On that note, has anyone had a good experience getting that lever to work with their dropper? I was thinking the DT Swiss dropper itself to ensure full compatibility. It’s 60mm drop only, but is sufficient for the trails around.
I have a 31.6 seat tube diameter though, and so would need a shim. Anyone had negative experience with using one?
