Google approved restoration of my account, but verification keeps blocking me — stuck in a loop for almost a week

Filtered - Rule #9

I bought a new Pixel and created a new Google account to move from iPhone into the Google ecosystem.

Shortly after setting everything up and starting my photo backup, Google disabled the account.

I appealed, and Google approved the restoration. Their email explicitly says my request for restored access was approved and tells me to sign in and verify.

The problem is that I can't complete verification.

I know my password, have access to the phone number associated with the account, and can receive SMS normally. But at the verification step Google says:

“Too many failed attempts. Unavailable because of too many failed attempts. Try again in a few hours.”

I've contacted Google Support repeatedly. I've been told:

  • wait 24–48 hours without trying;
  • later, wait 72 hours;
  • potentially wait 168 hours if it fails;
  • then another agent told me account recovery was the only solution and that I could “try as many times as I want.”

I followed the latest instruction and tried again today. Same “Too many failed attempts” error.

So I'm stuck:

Restoration approved → Google requires verification → verification blocked → Support tells me to recover/try again → Google blocks verification again.

I've been unable to properly use my new Pixel or access this account, email and photos for almost a week.

I'm not asking Google to bypass security. I have my password and phone number. I just need the verification restriction reviewed so I can receive the SMS token or use another verification method.

Has anyone had this exact post-restoration verification loop? Is there an actual escalation path to Google's account/security team rather than repeating Account Recovery indefinitely?

I already have multiple Google Support cases open, so I'm specifically looking for an escalation route or someone who has successfully resolved this exact situation.

I've intentionally omitted my email address, phone number, order number and support case IDs.
