Do any of you get told you don't "look" telugu

It's frustrating to hear this from north ind and even telugus themselves all the time, I have faced countless incidents where they start speaking to me in hindi, or ask if im mixed lol. One shld know by now that not all south indians look the same, there's no specific "look" to being a telugu, just as how there's no look to being an indian.

What is also annoying is I've seen the exact same ppl mock us, call us "ugly" and our language sounds "funny", make no effort to understand our culture&language despite living here since years. I don't want to gang up on ppl or force them to learn a language but it is bare minimum that you respect us at least. I have had so many men esp tell me I "don't look telugu" and they think its some compliment. emo asalu inta moddu ela untaro
