5 years on this journey.. nothing to show for it

As the title mentions, we have been on this journey for 5 years now. We are dealing with non obstructive azoospermia a severe form of male infertility. We’ve frozen eggs but do not have sperm to fertilize the eggs.

My husband’s specific diagnosis is maturation arrest. He has the cells to make sperm but for some unknown reason they dont turn into fully mature sperm… the most difficult thing in our situation is we have seen 2-3 mature sperm before on sperm analysis. However, we didnt freeze them and ever since then we have seen 0 sperm on all sperm analysis. The mTESE failed. It just feels like all hope is lost.

We’ve tried isotretinoin as a potential drug to help with maturation arrest but it didnt work for us. Countless other drugs, visits with the urologist. There seems to be nothing. The grief is making is hard to get out of bed every single morning. We are not open to donor sperm.
