I’ve completed the first of three rubber band ligation sessions...

The big day finally arrived, and I had my first rubber band placed! I was scared after reading all those crazy stories online... but it wasn't that bad (so far).

I have three hemorrhoids, and the worst part is that it’s not just the banded one that hurts—obviously—but the other two as well; they got pretty irritated by the enema and the subsequent proctoscopy. On top of that, I can't use any ointments right now, so I'm suffering with three inflamed hemorrhoids. Lol.

The procedure itself took literally a minute. A quick suction, and the doctor said it was over. I left without any pain. It kicked in after about four hours and is still going on. There’s a sensation of pressure, burning, and pain, but it’s bearable. I’m able to focus on other things. I took one painkiller.

I want—so, so, so much—to finally be cured of these fucking hemorrhoids and live life to the fullest. Of course, I’ll still be careful and maintain healthy habits, but I just don’t want to feel daily discomfort and burning anymore. I’ve still got a bit of a road ahead, but I’m optimistic. I have to get through this.

Please, don’t be afraid of this procedure. Sometimes it’s the best solution. I’m already thinking about scheduling the next one because I want this over and done with so badly. I think that once I get at least two of them removed, I’ll feel much, much better.
