Update: I’m a bit confused after reading the comments

I didn’t expect this post to get so many comments. A lot of people told me to stay away from her because she’s my coworker, and honestly, I understand why.

But I feel like I didn’t explain the situation very well in my first post.

It’s not like I’m obsessed with her or constantly trying to get her attention. We just started talking more recently, and I noticed that I really enjoy being around her.

There have also been a few things that made me wonder if she might be interested too.

For example, sometimes she comes to my desk even when she could easily send me a message. We also have little conversations that have nothing to do with work. Sometimes she starts them herself.

A couple of times, we’ve caught each other looking at each other, and she usually smiles when it happens. Maybe that means nothing, I honestly don’t know.

I’m also not planning to suddenly confess my feelings to her or make things uncomfortable at work.

I’m just trying to understand whether asking her for a coffee outside of work would really be such a bad idea.

Some comments made it sound like dating a coworker is automatically a terrible idea. Is it really that bad if both people are adults, there’s no manager/employee situation, and I’m respectful if she says no?

Maybe I’m just looking for reasons to make a move because I like her. That’s also possible.
