Help with Xiaomi Redmi Note 13

Hello.

I'm not sure if this is the right subreddit to post this. If not, please be kind and steer me to the proper one. English is not my native language. I'm not good with smartphones either, so sorry if I use incorrect terminology.

My mother is using Xiaomi Redmi Note 13. Suddenly, all her icons on her homescreens disappeared and are now accessible only via down-to-up (↑) swipe. The homescreen seems to reset back to original layout, but the wallpaper stayed my mother's. Her left-to-right (→) swipe no longer leads to news, but "Messages" with "Set messages as your default SMS app" screen and "Set default SMS App" button (and an ad before that).
