Losing my HDFC Infinia over a hidden 2-month spend trap—HDFC, you lost a loyal customer!
I m losing my HDFC Infinia card after 4 years of solid usage, and I am absolutely furious at how ridiculous this system is.
Back in the March/April timeframe, HDFC apparently sent an email stating a requirement to hit a ₹3 Lakh spend target during that specific window. I completely missed that email. Because I had no idea about this sudden criteria, my total spend during those months ended up being just under ₹3 Lakh.
Now, they are cancelling my Infinia card.
Here is what makes this completely insane:
* My annual spend is well over ₹10 Lakh. I easily clear the threshold for annual fee waivers every single year, proving I more than meet their income and spending profile.
* Customer Support refuses to budge. They won't even evaluate my overall account history or high annual spend. Zero flexibility, zero human context.
* It feels like a deliberate trap. Who designed a policy where a loyal, high-spending customer misses one email, falls slightly short on a 2-month sub-target, and gets stripped of their card? If they want to test affordability, why not just stick to the standard ₹8–10 Lakh annual spend thresh
old instead of pulling this gimmick?
Honestly, Infinia didn’t just lose a cardholder; HDFC lost a customer. I know for a fact I’m not the only one getting caught in this absurd setup.
Moving all my primary spending to the ICICI Emeralde Private Metal now. Just hoping ICICI treats long-term premium customers with a bit more sense and transparency.
