Starting CS in 2026 — how will AI affect my career?

I recently graduated high school in the Middle East and decided to study Computer Science. I’m considering specializing in AI later on.

I’d like to hear from people who are currently working in the industry:

How do you expect AI to affect CS jobs over the next 10 years, especially entry-level software engineering roles?

If you were starting a CS degree in 2026, would you still choose CS? And would you recommend specializing in AI, or focusing on a strong general CS foundation first?

Also, what are realistic salary ranges for CS/software engineering roles in your country, especially for someone starting out?

I’m looking for honest opinions from people with actual industry experience.
