Is it worth intercalating for paediatrics?

I’m really interested in getting into paeds but struggling to find stuff in general — anyways, my lecturer brought up that we should start thinking about whether we’d want to intercalate since its 3rd year now and I would honestly do it but if I knew there was no benefit from it whatsoever I might just save myself the trouble.
