30 [M4F] Seeking a wife, not a situationship with an fancy title #East Tennessee

M4F

Single father, successful business owner, and apparently still optimistic enough to think I can find my person on Reddit. Of course I must describe myself; I am 6ft, bearded, heavily tattooed, usually have rings of some kind on, and work hard to take care of myself as best I can. A friend described me as an emo lumberjack, which personally thought was hilarious. I work as hard as I do because I treat “good enough” like a personal insult.

I’m here because I genuinely want a traditional relationship. Not traditional when it’s convenient, not an aesthetic for pictures and social media (not that I really use it) but a relationship where we both understand the roles we’ve chosen and actually enjoy them. I am naturally a leader, I’m decisive, protective, and comfortable carrying responsibility, and I want a woman who feels comfortable deferring to my judgment and trusting me to make the final call when one needs to be made. That doesn’t mean I don’t want her thoughts, opinions, or perspective. Quite the opposite, I want a woman whose mind I respect enough that I actively seek her counsel. But ultimately, I want the responsibility of leading our family to rest on my shoulders. Defer to me, yes, but not because I don't respect you; but because you respect me enough to listen.I’m not looking for someone who wants to compete with me for control of the relationship, I want a partner who is comfortable letting me lead and who genuinely wants that dynamic for herself.

I think if a man asks for that kind of trust and obedience, he should damn well be worthy of it.

I want to provide. I want my wife to know that the roof over our heads, the future we’re building, and the wellbeing of our family are things I take personally. Whether she wants to work, pursue something she loves, stay home, raise our children, or some combination of all of it doesn’t particularly matter to me, I want to build a life where she has choices instead of obligations. I want her to feel safe enough to soften, supported enough to chase the things she cares about, and secure enough to know that when life decides to throw a brick through the window, I caught it, and we are cleaning the mess together.

That being said, I’m not searching for someone without a backbone, and I’m definitely not looking for an employee with an unusually complicated benefits package. I want my best friend. I want someone affectionate, loyal, feminine, communicative, and capable of telling me what she thinks. I want teasing each other in the kitchen, ridiculous inside jokes, conversations that accidentally last until 2 AM, quiet nights together, and the kind of trust where neither of us ever has to wonder whether the other person is in our corner.

Personality-wise, I’m an enormous nerd. D&D, TCGs, gaming, fantasy, collecting, reading, and enough obscure interests that listing them all would turn this post into a CVS receipt. Give me five minutes and I can probably find some bizarre subject I know far too much about. On the other side of that coin, I love building and designing things, working with my hands, gardening, cooking, and creating something tangible that I can stand back and be proud of when I’m finished.

Being a father is also a massive part of who I am. My son comes first, and I’m looking for someone who genuinely wants family life, including the noisy, exhausting, occasionally sticky reality of it. I want more children with the right woman, I want a home that feels lived in and warm, dinners together, traditions that become ours, kids running around, projects that never quite get finished on schedule, and eventually looking across the room at my wife and realizing we actually built the thing we used to daydream about.

I’m not searching for someone because my life is empty. It isn’t. I’m searching because I have a life worth sharing, a ridiculous amount of love and effort to give, and I’d like to find a woman who wants to pour that same energy back into me.

I want to lead, provide, protect, and adore my wife, and I want a woman who genuinely wants to trust, support, nurture, and build beside her husband.
