I’m a Teacher and New Hearing Aid User — Are ReSounds Just Not Right for Me?
New hearing aid user here. I have mild-to-moderate high-frequency hearing loss and am currently trying ReSound Sensia 9s.
When they work, I really like them and I’m definitely asking people to repeat themselves less. But I’m having some issues with the sound fading in and out, and there are a couple environments—especially my kitchen and driving—where I honestly hear worse with them no matter what setting I use.
My audiologist is working with me on some adjustments, but said if we can’t get them right we may try another manufacturer while I’m still in my trial period.
For people who have actually tried different brands, what would you recommend?
My biggest priority is understanding speech in background noise. I’m an elementary teacher and spend a lot of my day working with small groups of kids in a pretty noisy environment.
Anyone switch from ReSound to another brand and notice a big difference?
