Crack Theory: Our Timeline is Doomed

With Blizzcon roughly 24 hours away I wanted to pose something I’ve been noodling on for the last week or so. To put it in MCU terms, we are sitting in one of Doctor Strange’s 14 million outcomes in which our world will inevitably fall to the influence of some cosmic force, likely the order of the titans. By the end of the next expansion, we will have lost Azeroth’s World Soul and our home. But our own version of Doctor Strange, Nozdormu, will not let our world die without a fight. Unclouded by the revelation of the future which has now come to pass he will send us back along the timeways to the defining time in our history that put us there. Now, when in time that might be, I’m not certain. But this act will be the catalyst for whatever this Camelot is supposed to be. It will allow for the retelling of old stories and new ones within them, allow for the consolidation for all Warcraft history, introduce fresh new player experiences and set a gameplay precedent providing a classic experience both set in the future of the current narrative and the past. The two ships merging into a single experience.
