sick jews - how are we managing the high holy days?

i saw someone post a rosh hashanah post and there was a surprising amount of us! so i wanted to ask how everyone is managing services.

i am skipping rosh hashanah for the first time since COVID as my mom couldn’t get the time off work for both rosh hashanah and yom kippur and i can’t make the journey without help. i am actually going to a ren faire on the day with a friend who can help me navigate etc. and while i feel guilty about it, i am trying to think of it as a different way to celebrate the new year. i am at least going to have some apples & honey.

for yom kippur we are staying at a hotel near the synagogue so i can attend kol nidre and the yom kippur services without having to travel twice. i am not fasting (tried last year and got very sick and had to break my fast early). i am 100% going to get PEM but i just don’t feel able to miss yom kippur. i will probably only attend the first and last services so i can rest in between.

how are you guys celebrating, if at all? online services? prayer at home?
