so i've had eyes on this game pretty much since all the way back when it first came out, but always said, "ehhh i don't like *playing* fighting games (and i suck ass at them anyway), i'll just stick to watching." i haven't actively played a fighting game for almost 10 years now, but i've developed such a deep fascination with mk from having racked up a disgusting amount of watch hours. and that made me start to think, "okay you know what, i'll buy the next one. there's no point buying mk1 now!"- but a convo I was having with my friend the other day made me say fuck it.

i'm currently steadily making my way through the tutorials (25% of the way through now). there's a LOT to take in, and i am finding it a bit overwhelming ngl. when it comes to combos, i'm sat repeatedly trying for several minutes before I can finally pull them off once 😭 i'm also having trouble remembering the inputs for special moves \_and\_ combos (expected tbh). suddenly every decent fighting game player has me watching them like, "how tf are you guys doing this? this is insanely difficult!"

HOWEVER, the main important thing is that this game is definitely fun so far, and I hope after at least my first week playing I'll be slightly less ass 🙂 loads of the characters have really cool designs imo, but johnny is my favourite so I will absolutely be learning him first.

ok that's it bye

i, incredibly unseasoned fighting game player, finally decided to buy mk1 this week (i'm not too late am I?)
