Got my visa after 6 weeks

Hi everyone
Finally got my UK Student visa today after waiting more than 6 weeks 😭
Posting my timeline because I know how stressful it is when you’re checking Reddit every day looking for people in the same situation.

Nationality: Iranian/Dominican applied with Dominica
Biometrics: 28 July 2026
Location: VFS Dubai, UAE
Service: Priority
31 July: Received first delay email saying they were unable to make a decision within the processing time
3 August: Received another delay email.

I was never asked for additional documents or an interview.

I made 2 paid enquiries one by email and one by phone. Both times I basically got told that my application was still awaiting a decision and that I just had to wait.

I also contacted the local MP for the area where my university is located, but because I am currently outside the UK and not yet living in the constituency, their office said they could not intervene.

My university checked my CAS several times and it remained Assigned throughout the delay.
For weeks, my university told me they were unable to contact UKVI or do anything regarding the delay.

Yesterday, 10 September, after a lot of back and forth, the university finally told me they were willing to raise an enquiry with UKVI on my behalf. They never confirmed whether they actually submitted it, as they said they would let me know once they had.

11 September 6:31PM Dubai time : VISA APPROVED
.
So honestly I have no idea whether the university enquiry had anything to do with it or whether the decision was already coming anyway, but after more than 6 weeks of waiting, it finally happened.

For anyone else stuck in the same situation, especially those who paid Priority and are way beyond the expected processing time: don’t automatically assume something is wrong with your application just because it’s taking forever.
Hopefully everyone still waiting gets their decision very soon. Good luck 🤞😭
