Renting Culture in Bangalore

Hi, I wanted to know about the renting culture in Electronic City. Are the landlords lenient with mixed roommates? Can I take a 1BHK at first and if it doesn't work out, get a roommate? Do I have to pay more rent if I get a roommate? Can the Landlord increase the rent anytime ?
