Upset-Day9099

my launch got 481 visitors and zero sales. what a launch actually tells you ($13k in 15 months)

three weeks of prep. the post drafted, screenshots done, pricing page rewritten, a list of subs to hit in order and a spreadsheet to log it. it went live and got 481 visitors over five days.

zero sales. and the thing i keep coming back to, not one of the 481 opened the pricing page.

i took it as a failed launch for a while. i think now it was the most useful five days of the whole project, because a launch is a measurement and i finally read it properly.

what it measures.

whether anyone wants it, not whether anyone likes it. 481 people were curious enough to click. zero were curious enough to ask how much. curiosity and wanting are different and only one of them is a business.

whether the problem is on the site or before the site. i spent the next week rewriting the pricing page. nobody had looked at the old one, so nobody looked at the new one either. if people will not check the price, you do not have a pricing problem, you have a nobody problem, and that cannot be fixed in the codebase.

whether you have distribution or a moment. a launch is a moment. it is a month of prep buying one day of attention and when the day goes badly everything happened at once and nothing is separable. i could not tell which sub, which title, which hour. all i had was zero.

what worked afterwards was the opposite shape. half an hour a day answering people in threads, no launch, no moment. a stripe screenshot with no pitch in it, 342 upvotes, the sales came from the comments. killing the free tier, $500 in three days. raising the price twice with no dip.

$197 in the year of launches and polishing. $13k in the six months after i stopped.

the honest version is that the launch did not fail. it succeeded at telling me nobody wanted it yet, and i ignored that for a month because i had a spreadsheet.

for context the product is [link](https://businessideasdb.com), ideas pulled from reddit complaints and app store reviews with the source thread and the stripe revenue of someone already earning on each one.

has a launch ever actually worked for anyone here on a first product? i genuinely want to know whether the model is broken for things this small or whether i did it badly
