Dentist asked me to pay for white filling

I have Guardian dental insurance and the dentist is in network. At the time of filling, white filling was the only choice. The dentist said silver filling is not safe and no one uses silver filling any more. Guardian won't pay for white filling. Is there any way to dismiss this white filling bill?
