Genuine question: why do you read bad LitRPGs even if you know they're bad?
I've been reading more LitRPGs lately, and I've been mulling on a question I'd love to pose to the group here:
No shade to any author (writing and publishing anything, period, is a feat in itself), but as readers, why do you read bad LitRPGs (or bad sci-fi/fantasy generally) even if you know they're bad?
Like what specific elements make it "worth the time" even if the writing is messy, the characters are flat, the game mechanics don't make sense, the description is weak or cliché, etc.
Are there some story elements you value more than others, and as long as the story has that, you'll tolerate everything else?
Genuine question. Because I've been asking myself the same thing.
