I F25 been texting a guy M40 for two months and now he’s gone cold

we met online and have been messaging every day for 2 months and calling regularly too. Now he’s just gone totally silent for a week. He did tell me he had some family stuff going on so I’m not sure if that is the reason. I’ve already texted a few times to see if everything is okay with no response.

Basically I don’t know what to do. We obviously don’t have an established relationship irl but I would say both sides felt a connection with what we had. How do I deal with a situation like this with someone I’ve become emotionally dependent on? Just wait for him to come back and hope it isn’t long? How do I stop my mind from coming up with all the worst possible scenarios?

He was always v open and communicative so I don’t think it’s an issue with me or at least o hope it isn’t. And that it’s genuinely because something has happened and he just needs time and space.

And is this normal behaviour - going silent for a week even if to deal with something after talking every day?
