Grizzl-E Club Charger membership program vs. submitting rebates

Hi all, first time EV buyer here - my understanding of the Grizzl-E Club Membership program is that you get a "free" charger and "cash back" for every kWh charged.

Is a valid alternative for an individual to buy a charger outright and then just submit the claims for the rebates themselves?

I imagine that Grizzl-E Club is basically doing the same on the back end and then sharing some of this rebate benefit with us (vs. me submitting claims individually and getting all of that rebate benefit).

Is this valid or am I missing something? Not even sure what the delta is between what Grizzl-E Club would be paying me back vs. what I'd get from the government directly.
