Build idea - Clymechs
I haven't tried this, because what I was doing was working on my way through expert and I didn't want to rock the boat too much, and I was trying to focus on bond levels which this would have stymied.
I really liked using Cly, and I made her second specialization gunslinger because it seemed fitting, but also because I thought the keen eye (crit chance) passive would stack well with her increased crit damage potential.
That turned into an afterthought fast because it turns out that her electric dart counts as +1 to the gunslinger's onslaught bonus (+1 damage after each attack) and at the max level, her darts only cost 1Advantage Point. You probably see where I'm going here.
I also loved bringing the astromech, and found that he really paired well with Cly. Grenades are fantastic for generating Advantage Points and the mech's ability to refill Cly's Action Points is awesome, especially if we're trying to make as many attacks as possible to increase, but also continue to apply the damage accumulated from, Cly's onslaught bonus.
Up to here, this was half of my team for a lot of the missions. But to really commit to this build fully, I wonder if it would be truly OP to just bring Cly and 3 astromechs (or 2 if you just can't bear to leave Hawks behind - or can't because it's a story mission). The grenades provide mountains of Advantage while Cly just flew around and hit enemies with darts, zap em all when you're down to 4 advantage, rinse and repeat multiple times through a single round, especially because she can move around with her jetpack so she keeps her actions points for blasting with her super buffed pistol. Keep a few Action Points on the mechs to send her way and she'll be launching pure destruction out of that pistol, not to mention the damage done by the grenades and the electric pulses. Even doing this with a team not purposely built around it, I was getting her pistol damage way up there in some rounds.
If I had to bring Hawks, maybe Medic for the stim buff and Scout to help scan for additional advantage? I'm giving the game a little break for now after beating it on expert (we'll see how long that lasts lol. It's super fun!) but I'd like to know if anyone tries this, how it works. Or perhaps you already have! I know it's not super complicated stuff so I'd wager people have already run something fairly similar if not exactly like this.
