Should I prioritize minimizing my actuations, or should I expand my connections?
Freshmen here, well the title says it all. To sum it up, I'm neurodivergent and am getting comfortable enough to reveal my true self and have more freedom of expression. Yet, socialization doesn't go well as I had hoped. I can't help but be an expressive person, especially with happiness (and of course, acting neutral with stuff I dislike). I always choose time alone because I tend to get overwhelmed staying in the classroom, and when I'm with my classmates, I tend to get too excited over nothing. Plus, there's also a language barrier since I moved to Cebu, and I'm not as familiar with bisaya as everyone else. My humor doesn't fit anywhere, and the rest of my classmates really established friend groups with each other, most of them at least. For some reason too, I have very few batchmates.
So, should I prioritize friend groups, fitting myself in and calming myself down a bit? Or try and connect with more people outside my batch while being true to myself? It'd perhaps be too early to tell, but right now, I feel like I do not fit right in with my classmates at all.
