I know I am quite late to the cashback club, but this is my first good card, and I am here to tell my story of getting it.

Currently 22, with no legally enforceable income documents,780 cibil,I have a 10-year-old savings account with SBI. I received a call from an SBI Card representative a few days ago; she addressed me by name and told me I was eligible for an SBI credit card. She asked if I was interested then visit my home branch. I thought she was just calling to reach her target, so I said I would decide later and ended the call. Then, I decided to give it a try.

I visited my home branch and found her; there, I saw a list where my name, account number, and phone number were printed along with others' details in that list, so it looked like a genuine offer. I asked her which card I was eligible for, and she said I could choose any card from the 500 to 3000 fee range. I said I want only cashback card, otherwise, I did not want any card. She said cashback card application was not possible through their system and that I had to apply via YONO. I agreed to apply from the YONO app. She asked what do I do, and I said I was technically unemployed but worked in my father's shop. She said she will fill my employment as salaried, use my father's store name as the company name, and me as a manager in application. I asked if this would cause any problems later, and she said no, they had done this many times before. Then, she applied for the card through my YONO app, and I received instant approval with a very, very good credit limit for me without any physical or income document verification. Today, I received my card in hand.

I have a question regarding this card: is there any way to earn cashback for utility spends, even if it is 1%?

Got it on my first try with SBI Card
