Would you watch “Stark: 3000” — a series telling Tony Stark’s story through the people who loved him?
I absolutely love Tony Stark and the Iron Man trilogy, and I’ve always wished we got to see more of his life outside the major MCU events. But one thing I wouldn’t want is for Marvel to resurrect him. I think his sacrifice in Endgame should stay permanent.
So I had an idea for a show called Stark: 3000.
The idea would be six seasons, with each season showing Tony Stark through the eyes of someone who knew and loved a different version of him. RDJ could still appear as Tony, but only during time periods when Tony was alive—new scenes, memories, recordings, and moments that happened between the movies. No multiverse Tony, no AI Tony, and no resurrection.
Season 1 — Pepper Potts: Tony as a partner. I’d want to start before the first Iron Man and follow their entire relationship from Pepper’s perspective. We could see what Tony was like before Afghanistan, their relationship between the movies, their wedding, Morgan being born, their life during the Blip, and eventually Pepper having to say goodbye to him.
Season 2 — Rhodey: Tony as a best friend/brother. This could go even further into Tony’s life before he became Iron Man and show why Rhodey stayed friends with this incredibly brilliant but incredibly difficult man 😂. We’d also see Rhodey watching Tony slowly become the person who would eventually sacrifice himself for everyone.
Season 3 — Happy: Tony as a friend and boss. I think this could easily be the funniest season because Happy witnessed so much of Tony’s chaos, but it could also become one of the saddest. Happy knew him before Iron Man and was still there for Tony’s family after he died.
Season 4 — Harley Keener: Tony as the mechanic. Harley met Tony during Iron Man 3 when Tony was traumatized, having panic attacks, stranded without his normal resources, and forced to prove that he was still Iron Man without the armor. I’d love to see how knowing Tony affected Harley as he grew up and eventually led to him attending Tony’s funeral.
Season 5 — Peter Parker: Tony as a mentor/father figure. Peter grew up knowing Iron Man as a superhero before Tony suddenly became part of his actual life. We could see more of their relationship between Civil War, Homecoming, Infinity War, and Endgame, and then Peter eventually processing Tony’s death.
Season 6 — Morgan Stark: Tony as Dad.
This would be the final and most personal season. Morgan doesn’t primarily remember Iron Man, the billionaire, or the Avenger who saved the universe. She remembers her dad. We’d finally get to see more of Tony and Pepper’s quiet life during the five-year Blip—Tony making breakfast, working in the garage with Morgan, putting her to bed, and just being a husband and father.
I’d have older Morgan be the thread connecting the entire series. She grows up hearing about Iron Man everywhere, but she wants to understand Tony Stark, the person her father was before she was old enough to really know him. Pepper, Rhodey, Happy, Harley, and Peter each give her a different piece of him.
F.R.I.D.A.Y. could also have Tony’s old recordings and messages, allowing Morgan to hear pieces of her father’s story directly from him.
And I already know how I’d end it.
After six seasons of Morgan learning about Tony, F.R.I.D.A.Y. asks her if she wants to hear another recording.
Morgan says:
“No. I think I know him now.”
Cut to black.
STARK: 3000
Tony stays dead. His sacrifice still means something. We just finally get to see more of the life he lived and the people he left behind.
Because sometimes the best way to honor a character isn’t to bring him back.
It’s to show what he left behind.
Would you watch this? And whose season would you be most interested in?
