Reaching out to small brands for PR

Hello! I’m in college, I got laid off from my job over the summer. I work an on campus job that pays $150 bi weekly. Which isn’t even enough to cover groceries 😀- without thinking of the other things I need. So I’ve been reaching out to brands trying to get PR in exchange to post their products. I have under 1,500 followers on IG. Although I have seen companies work with small creators.
I wouldn’t call myself a micro influencer- if I’m being real I just want free stuff lol. Because I cannot afford to buy anything. I have been turned down by everyone so far, (Rothys, Birkenstock, no response from princess polly)

Does anyone have some recommendations for brands that would have a better chance in giving me anything ? Please I’m honestly desperate I dm’ed a chicken salad chain.
