Invited me over for dinner, then handed me a baby monitor and walked out the door

RANT

My college friend Sarah texted me on Tuesday asking if I wanted to come over for homemade pasta and wine to "finally catch up." We havent hung out properly in almost eight months since she had her second kid. I was genuinely excited. I even stopped by the store and picked up a decent $25 Pinot Noir.

I got to her house at 6:15 PM. She opens the door with her coat already on, purse under her arm, and hands me a baby monitor.

she literally says: "You are an ANGEL, the kids just went down twenty minutes ago, I have a Costco run and a nail appointment, see you around 8:30!"

Before I could even register the sentence, she was down the driveway and in her minivan.

There was no pasta. There was cold takeout containers in the sink and two sleeping toddlers upstairs that I am not qualified to look after if an emergency happens. She didnt even ask. She just assumed that because I do not have children, my Friday night is completely disposable and I would be thrilled to sit in her dark living room alone for two hours.

I should of called an Uber and left immediately, but I didn't want two toddlers burning the place down. When did basic friendship turn into unpaid TaskRabbit shifts?
