The graphic argues with itself.
Contract: ASTS $65 calls expiring 25 September 2026, $1 million premium, block, about 7% out of the money.
The left column says “Expiry: Two Weeks.” The right column says “High Conviction Long-Dated Bullish Position.” Only one of those can be true.
Two weeks is a lottery ticket. November earnings (9th or 16th, after the close) sit on the other side of expiry. This print never sees the next report.
Cash is about $60 Friday after $59.91 Thursday (−4%) and a slide from the mid-60s earlier in the week. $65 is an 8% run in a fortnight on a name that already proved it can drop 4–9% in a session.
Dollar size matters here more than it does on META: $1M in ASTS options is a real order. It is still not proof of a BlueBird / carrier milestone landing before the 25th.
ASTS trades narrative — spectrum, launches, carrier deals — and narrative names reprice implied vol for breakfast.
Do not buy the same call after reading the word “massive.” If you are already long stock, this is someone renting $65 for two weeks.
If you are not, you are paying peak-ish vol for a strike the stock has to recapture in ten trading days. Space-to-phone is the story for 2027.
This expiry is 2026’s third week of September. Keep them separate.
