Some Bonrad hater suggest that Barry and Iris from The Flash TV series were parallel because they were both Toxic. WestAllen had their struggles, but they became a power couple as Team Flash, so despite their efforts, comparing Bonrad to WestAllen isn't actually the worst couple to compare them to. I see a lot of Conrad in Barry Allen. They both have a hero complex, trying to protect the people they love. They both have the weight of the world on their shoulders in some form, trying to be greater than they are sometimes capable of being. They both are in love with their childhood friend and struggle with not wanting to change the dynamic of their relationship. They both deal with grief and need time to heal before being able to fully commit to the women they love. They are flawed and don't always make the best decisions. Let's be honest, Belly is no Iris West. Iris isn't written to look bad for going from one brother to the other. She doesn't string a brother along for years while harboring known feelings for Barry. Iris isn't confused or unsure of who she is. She is confident and fearless. Iris is also unapologetic for her love for Barry. She is more honest about her feelings, and she is more communicative. She doesn't misinterpret what people say, and she doesn't assign the wrong motive to Barry's actions. She doesn't write off Barry's feelings for her as minor and insignificant. She doesn't constantly project her insecurities, fears, and feelings onto Barry, making him the bad guy in her mind. Iris isn't deceived into thinking her fiancé is a better man than he actually is. Iris's fiancé is a good man who selflessly sacrifices his life for the good of others. He is ten times the man Jere is. I am not a Belly hater, just an observation that she is more broken, confused, and complex than Iris. She brings a lot more conflict to the table that is a plot device to keep her and Conrad apart.
