Theory about Nick

So I'm currently going through getting all achievements/all endings for Season 3, and I realized I don't have a file that will actually let me stay with Jill or end up with Nikita. So I'm revisiting Seasons 1 and 2 for a "monk" file as some of you call it. In doing so, I noticed a detail about Nick that seems really suspicious given what we learn in Season 3. When the laptop goes missing, we already know that Nick was with it and potentially saw Magnar with it (though we don't get a definitive answer, just him claiming he didn't see who used it). What feels suspicious though is that we find Nick in the Library of the DIK house looking through the books on the floor from when Vinny trashed it. Putting that together with what we learn about the puzzle box, I'm starting to think that Nick isn't actually innocent and that he was looking for Excalibus for Magnar.
